Save Your Teeth

Root canal treatment is a commonly performed procedure aimed at alleviating dental pain and preserving the natural tooth.

Root Canal Treatment

Root canal therapy is a dental procedure used to save a tooth that is badly infected or decayed. During treatment, the dentist removes bacteria and damaged tissue from inside the tooth, cleans and disinfects the canals, and then fills and seals them to prevent reinfection. Root canals are only performed when a tooth can still be saved and restored to health.

How is Root Canal Treatment done?

Although a fairly toilsome procedure, we assure that root canals can be essentially completed
in four simple steps, taking more than two office visits.

1.
Numbing the Tooth

Hot packs and TMJ massage can help ease jaw pain and improve movement in mild to moderate TMJ cases. They are not a cure and are used with other treatments. Some discomfort may occur. Dentists at Meiplus can advise if this treatment is right for you.

2.
Preparing the Canals

Cold spray is used to help relieve TMJ pain and swelling. It works by cooling the area and reducing inflammation. This can provide quick, short-term pain relief.

3.
Filling the Root Canal

A mouth splint (bite guard) helps reduce TMJ symptoms by supporting and repositioning the jaw. It can ease pain and improve jaw movement. Dentists may recommend it as part of ongoing treatment.

4.
Placing a Crown

BTX injections can help reduce jaw muscle tension and pain in some TMJ patients. The effects are temporary and may take several weeks to fully work. This treatment is not suitable for everyone and requires a dental consultation.

Does a Root Canal Treatment Hurt?

Root canal therapy is no more painful than a routine dental procedure, as anesthesia is used to keep you comfortable throughout the treatment. You may experience mild soreness afterward, but this usually fades within a few days. While the idea of a root canal can seem intimidating, the procedure helps protect your smile, eliminate infection, and save your natural tooth. With proper oral hygiene and regular dental care, your treated tooth can remain healthy and functional. If you’re experiencing dental pain or suspect an infection, Meiplus Dentalcare is here to help—your comfort and care are our top priority.
