Dental Implants in Singapore: Cost, MediSave and Your Questions Answered (2026)

How much does a dental implant cost in Singapore?

Reviewed by Dr. Brian Bak Junbeom and Dr. James Leem Jae Hoon, Meiplus Dentalcare. Last updated October 2026.

A single dental implant in Singapore generally costs about S$3,000 to S$6,000 including the crown, before MediSave. At Meiplus Dentalcare, a single implant with a zirconia crown costs S$3,000, or S$1,050 after a MediSave claim of up to S$1,950. Singapore Citizens and PRs can use MediSave for the surgical part of treatment.

The final price depends on the number of implants and whether you need a bone graft or sinus lift. Fees are subject to GST.

Bone graft and sinus lift fees are shown before GST, depend on the complexity of your case and are confirmed after your 3D scan.

The S$3,000 fee includes your assessment with X-ray and 3D CBCT scan, the implant (Osstem, Dentium or Straumann), a custom abutment, a full zirconia crown and post-operative medication.

Not sure what your treatment will cost? Book a dental implant consultation for S$49.05 at either one of our clinics. Pricing inclusive of GST. It comes with an X-ray, a 3D CBCT scan and a consultation with a Principal Dentist with at least 10 years of experience in dental implants, with no hidden fees.

Why do dental implant prices in Singapore vary so much?

Quoted prices differ mainly because they include different things. Before comparing clinics, check whether the price covers:

  • The crown and abutment. Some quotes cover only the implant surgery, with the crown charged separately.
  • The 3D scan. CBCT imaging is needed to plan implant placement safely.
  • The implant brand. Established brands with long clinical track records usually cost more.
  • The dentist’s expertise. Implant placement is surgery. Dentists with more implant training and years of experience may charge more, and experience matters most in complex cases.
  • Extra procedures. A bone graft or sinus lift adds to the cost if your jawbone is thin.

A very low price can also mean lower-cost materials, such as:

  • A porcelain-fused-to-metal or metal crown instead of full zirconia. Zirconia is strong, tooth-coloured all the way through, and has no metal edge that can show at the gum line.
  • A standard (stock) abutment instead of a custom one. A custom abutment is shaped to your gums, which helps the crown fit and look more natural.

At Meiplus Dentalcare, the implant fee includes a full zirconia crown and a custom abutment.

How much MediSave can I use for a dental implant?

For a single implant, you can use up to S$1,950 of MediSave. That is made up of two CPF limits for day surgery:

  • Up to S$1,120 per implant inserted, the surgical limit for dental implants
  • Up to S$830 per day for day-surgery charges such as investigations, medicines and the dentist’s attendance fees

MediSave covers the surgical placement only, not the crown or abutment. The claim cannot be more than your actual bill.

  • You must be a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • The clinic must be MediSave-accredited. Meiplus Dentalcare is MediSave-accredited.
  • You can use your own MediSave or an approved family member’s, such as a spouse, parent or child.
  • The clinic submits the claim for you; you pay only the balance.

CHAS does not cover dental implants, but it can cover related basic treatment such as consultations, X-rays and extractions, depending on your CHAS tier.

How long does dental implant treatment take?

Most single implants take about 3 to 6 months from surgery to the final crown, because the jawbone needs time to bond with the implant (osseointegration). The implant placement itself usually takes 5 to 30 minutes under local anaesthesia. If you need a bone graft, healing can take longer.

Frequently asked questions about dental implants

Is getting a dental implant painful?

The surgery is done under local anaesthesia, so most people feel pressure or vibration rather than pain. Mild swelling and discomfort afterwards is normal and is usually managed with prescribed medication for a few days. Most people can resume light activities the same or next day.

How long do dental implants last?

With good oral hygiene and regular check-ups, dental implants typically last 15 to 25 years or longer, and in many cases a lifetime. The crown may eventually need replacing because of normal wear, but the titanium implant is designed to be permanent.

Can dental implants fail?

Yes, but it is uncommon in healthy patients. The main risks are smoking, poorly controlled diabetes, gum disease and poor oral hygiene. If an implant does not integrate with the bone, it can usually be removed and replaced after healing.

Am I too old for dental implants?

No. There is no upper age limit. Suitability depends on your jawbone volume and density, gum health, general health, smoking and medications, which your dentist assesses with a clinical exam and 3D scan.

Do I need a bone graft or sinus lift?

Not everyone does. A bone graft is needed when the jawbone is too thin to hold an implant, which is common when a tooth has been missing for a long time. A sinus lift adds bone in the upper back jaw. At Meiplus Dentalcare, a bone graft costs S$650 to S$1,950 and a sinus lift starts from S$2,500, before GST, depending on complexity. Your 3D scan shows whether you need either.

Why can I claim S$1,950 MediSave when some clinics say S$1,120?

S$1,120 is only the surgical limit for one implant. Because implant placement is done as day surgery, CPF also allows up to S$830 per day for day-surgery charges, which brings the maximum for a single implant to S$1,950.

Does MediSave cover the dental implant crown?

No. MediSave covers only the surgical placement of the implant. The crown and abutment are paid out of pocket.

How many visits does a dental implant need?

Usually three to five: consultation and scan, implant surgery, a review during healing, and one or two visits to fit the crown.
